Founded in March 1885, the monastery underwent changes during Soviet times, with its cathedral transformed into a theater in 1929 until religious activities resumed in 1942.
The monastery functions under the Kremenchug Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, maintaining Eastern Orthodox traditions and ceremonies throughout the religious calendar.
