Park Chekmana

Park Chekmana covers 140 hectares along the Buh Reservoir and features a network of both natural and artificial canals across its grounds. The space includes recreational areas, waterside paths, and various attractions distributed throughout the landscape.

The park takes its name from Mikhail Chekman, a former mayor who made substantial contributions to the city's development and infrastructure. The naming choice honors his role in shaping the urban landscape.

The entrance features a sculpture alley where couples attach locks to a large horseshoe, reflecting how this place holds meaning in local customs. The installation demonstrates the role the park plays in people's everyday rituals and gatherings.

The park is accessible via pathways, and boat and catamaran rentals are available at the waterfront for exploring the reservoir. It is best visited during warmer months when all facilities and water activities are operational.

The central area features a small animal collection and metal vehicle displays alongside a Space Composition installation for children. These elements create an unexpected blend of nature-based recreation with quirky artistic touches.
