Nemyriv park, park-monument of landscape art in Vinnytsia Oblast, Ukraine
Nemyriv Park is a protected green space covering about 85 hectares in the city of Nemyriv in Vinnytsia region. It features over 120 species of trees and shrubs arranged along wide paths, with three cascading lakes that create focal points throughout the landscape.
The park was founded in 1787 by Polish nobleman V. Pototsky and evolved into a sprawling garden over subsequent decades. In the 1800s, gardeners and specialists from Vienna, Brussels, and Prague redesigned it, selecting diverse tree species to create its varied landscape.
The park reflects the tastes of its owners across different eras, from the original designs to later additions. Visitors can observe how each period left its mark on the layout, visible in the arrangement of trees and paths that tell a story of changing styles.
The park is accessible by car via main highways E50 and R11 leading directly to the site, and by bus from Vinnytsia in about 20 minutes. Wide, well-maintained paths allow visitors to stroll comfortably through the grounds, with plenty of time to explore the different plant areas and enjoy the calm surroundings.
A special pine tree called the Wailing Pine stands near the palace and serves as a favorite resting spot for visitors seeking shade. Around 20 very old trees, some over a hundred years old, still survive and serve as living witnesses to the park's long past.
