Vinnytsia Oblast, Administrative region in west-central Ukraine.
Vinnytsia Oblast is an administrative region in west-central Ukraine with its capital in the city of Vinnytsia. The territory follows the Southern Bug River and is divided into 27 districts that cover agricultural land, industrial zones, and forested areas.
The administrative region was established on February 27, 1932, during the Soviet reorganization of Ukrainian territories. Several districts from neighboring areas were merged at that time to create the current structure.
The region maintains numerous educational institutions, including medical universities, technical schools, and research centers that contribute to Ukraine's academic development.
Visitors will find granite quarries, kaolin mines, and mineral springs used for health and relaxation treatments throughout the territory. The area is connected by roads and rail lines, with larger towns serving as starting points for exploring the surrounding countryside.
The Ladyzhyn thermal power station generates electricity for several regions and uses its heat distribution network to support nearby agricultural operations. This combination of power generation and farming support is relatively rare in Ukraine.
