Vynnytsia Fountain Roshen, Multimedia fountain on Southern Buh River, Vinnytsia, Ukraine.
Roshen Fountain sits in the middle of the Southern Buh and consists of multiple water jets that send streams vertically and diagonally across the river surface. Colored lights illuminate the jets during each show, so the water columns take on different hues depending on the music playing.
The project was completed in 2011 and brought a permanent stage for light and water shows to the riverbank in Vinnytsia. The installation turned a quiet stretch of the river into a gathering spot for residents and travelers.
Musicians from classical composers like Mozart and Tchaikovsky to modern artists provide the soundtrack for the water and light performances.
Shows run from spring through fall and last half an hour each, with every performance offering a different musical program. Visitors should come during fair weather, as rain or wind can affect the visibility of the water jets.
In winter, the entire mechanism is submerged beneath the ice layer and kept in a special hibernation mode that prevents the pumps from freezing. This method allows the installation to be reused year after year without major disassembly.
