House of Officers, Concert hall and military community center in Vinnytsia, Ukraine
The House of Officers is a concert hall and military community center in Vinnytsia, Ukraine, known for its Stalinist architecture. Massive columns frame the entrance, while symmetrical rows of windows and ornamental reliefs cover the entire facade, giving the building a monumental character.
The building was completed in 1940 and served as a gathering place for military personnel and civilians during the Soviet era. After decades of use as a cultural center, it suffered severe damage in a missile strike in July 2022.
The concert hall regularly presents musical performances, theatrical productions, and exhibitions that celebrate both Ukrainian military heritage and contemporary arts.
The hall sits in central Vinnytsia and is within walking distance of most hotels and cafés in town. Events take place throughout the year, with the program rotating by season and often featuring concerts and theater productions.
After the missile strike, the structure remained standing despite massive damage and became a symbol of the city's resistance. Today, the damaged facade serves as a reminder of wartime history, while the community continues to organize cultural events inside.
