Vinnytsia water tower, Water tower and museum in Vinnytsia, Ukraine
Vinnytsia Water Tower is a red brick building with seven floors rising approximately 28 meters above the ground. A large clock with a 2-meter dial faces outward from the top of the structure.
The tower was built in 1912 to distribute water throughout the city and serve as a fire observation post. Its original purpose ended after 1920, leading to a change in how the building was used.
The tower houses the Museum of Military Glory, displaying exhibitions about conflicts from the 20th century since it opened for this purpose. Visitors can see objects that connect to the lived experiences of local people.
The tower stands on European Square in central Vinnytsia within a pedestrian area of the park. Visitors can easily reach the building and walk around the surrounding space.
At the base of the tower, three-dimensional graphics depict cascading water and create an effect that resembles bursting water pipes. This artistic touch gives the entrance an unexpected visual quality.
