The cemetery contains over 600 tombstones spread across its grounds, with inscriptions in Hebrew dating from 1824 to the present day.
During the February 1918 pogrom in Hlukhiv, more than 100 Jewish residents were killed and subsequently buried in this cemetery's mass graves.
The cemetery includes the final resting place of Rabbi Shumyatsky, appointed by the Tsemakh Tsedek, and other significant members of the Chabad movement.
The cemetery maintains records of burials, including locations and names, which visitors can access through the local Jewish community administration.
In May 2022, Russian forces bombed this cemetery during the conflict, though the graves of two important sages remained undamaged.
