Ivankiv Historical and Local History Museum, Regional history museum in Ivankiv, Ukraine
The Ivankiv Historical and Local History Museum was an institution in the town of Ivankiv, Kyiv Oblast, that held more than 400 items related to the region's past. The collection included Stone Age finds, examples of traditional craft work, natural science specimens, and artworks by local creators.
The institution opened its doors in February 1981 and used a former manor house as its exhibition building. It was destroyed in February 2022 during the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The institution displayed works by Maria Prymachenko, whose paintings represented Ukrainian folk traditions through colorful depictions of animals, plants, and mythological creatures.
The museum offered educational programs and conferences on scientific topics from regional history. Exhibitions ranged from the Stone Age to modern times and changed their thematic focus regularly.
During the attack in 2022, local residents rescued several paintings from the burning building, including ten works by Maria Prymachenko. The artworks were saved from complete destruction this way.
