Ivankiv, Rural settlement in Vyshhorod Raion, Ukraine

Ivankiv is a settlement on the left bank of the Teteriv River in Kyiv Oblast, serving as a connection point between larger cities and surrounding farming regions. The place has schools, medical services, and regular bus links to other towns in the area.

The settlement was founded in 1589 by Ivan Proskura, from whom it took its name. Raids by Crimean Tatars in the early 1600s caused severe losses to the local population.

The local museum once housed works by Maria Prymachenko, an artist born in the area, making it a destination for those interested in regional artistic heritage. The space reflected the creative contributions of people from this part of Ukraine.

The settlement is accessible by car or bus and offers basic facilities like shops and eateries for visitors. It is best to explore during the day, as services are oriented toward daily traffic and overnight accommodations may be limited.

Despite sitting relatively close to the Chornobyl nuclear plant, the town experienced minimal damage from the 1986 accident compared to nearby settlements. Its location and local wind patterns offered some natural protection from the worst effects.
