Mynach Falls, Natural waterfall trail near Devil's Bridge, Wales
Mynach Falls is a waterfall near Devil's Bridge that drops through five distinct stages totaling about 90 meters down a steep ravine. The water creates a cascade of pools as it descends through the narrow valley.
The waterfall's story connects to Strata Florida monks who lived in this region during the medieval period and built multiple bridges across the gorge. The oldest of these structures dates to the 11th century and still stands today.
The name comes from the Welsh word for monk, reflecting the monastic communities that once shaped this valley. Today visitors walk through a landscape where that religious heritage remains woven into the geography itself.
The walk begins at a turnstile entrance where you pay to enter, then continues on a loop path of about 1 mile with over 600 steps. The route crosses varying terrain, so sturdy footwear is recommended.
There is a cave known as Robber's Cave tucked into the ravine, a spot that appears in local stories though its exact purpose remains unclear. The cave blends into the rock face and can be spotted from the walking path above.
