Eastleigh

Eastleigh is a borough in Hampshire that sits between Southampton and Winchester, incorporating residential neighborhoods and green spaces along the River Itchen. The district blends urban centers with rural patches, forming a region of mixed use.

The area began as a Saxon settlement called East Leah in 932 and grew into a railway town after the London and South Western Railway arrived in 1838. The railway transformed the place from a small village into a center for maintenance and operations.
