Maplewood

Maplewood is a residential township in Essex County, New Jersey, home to over twenty-four thousand people. The township covers about four square miles (10 km) and includes parks, public spaces, and residential streets close to New York City.

The township was founded in the mid-nineteenth century as a separate settlement. During the twentieth century it grew into a suburban community with its own administration and public facilities.
