Chase County, Administrative county in eastern Kansas, United States

Chase County stretches across 778 square miles of land in the eastern part of Kansas, containing nine townships and several small communities.

The county received its name from Salmon Portland Chase, who served as Ohio governor, U.S. Senator, Treasury Secretary, and Supreme Court Chief Justice.

The Chase County Courthouse in Cottonwood Falls represents the architectural heritage of Kansas with its French Renaissance design and limestone construction.

Interstate 35, U.S. Route 50, and Kansas Highways 150 and 177 provide transportation connections throughout Chase County and neighboring regions.

The Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve within Chase County protects one of the last remaining sections of the North American prairie ecosystem.
