Moore County

Moore County is an administrative division in southern Tennessee, covering approximately 130 square miles with farmland, timbered ridges, and the Elk River running through it. The Tennessee General Assembly established the county in 1871 from portions of Franklin and Lincoln counties and named it after General William Moore. This founding shaped the administrative structure of the southern region that continues today.
