Wellesley, Educational town in Norfolk County, Massachusetts.

Wellesley is a town in Norfolk County, Massachusetts, located west of Boston. The community includes several residential neighborhoods and hosts two well-known colleges, along with public schools and recreational facilities.

The area was first part of Dedham starting in the mid-17th century and later transferred to Needham. The town gained independence in 1881 and took its name from a local estate.

Wellesley College, founded in 1870, maintains extensive gardens and academic buildings along the shores of Lake Waban, shaping the town's educational character.

The town has regional transit stops with connections to Boston. Public parks and trails along lakes offer opportunities for outdoor walks.

One college campus displays a large granite globe about eight meters across. The structure stands beside a relief map of the region.
