Bear Mountain State Park

Bear Mountain State Park extends across 5,000 acres of mountainous terrain, featuring extensive hiking trails and multiple viewpoints over the Hudson River.

The park, established in 1913 as one of New York's first state parks, emerged from a regional initiative to preserve natural landscapes along the Hudson River Valley.

The Bear Mountain Inn, constructed in the early twentieth century, represents the architectural heritage of mountain lodges and functions as a social gathering place.

The park includes numerous marked trails, picnic areas, a swimming pool operating during summer months, and parking facilities for the 1.9 million annual visitors.

A section of the Appalachian Trail traverses through the park, connecting hikers to one of North America's most significant long-distance hiking paths.
