Lime Rock Park, Motorsport racing track in Salisbury, Connecticut.
Lime Rock Park is a motorsport racing track in Salisbury, Connecticut, that winds 1.53 miles through the Berkshire Mountains landscape. The facility consists of seven turns that follow natural terrain and climb roughly 75 feet from lowest to highest point.
The track opened its gates in 1957 and today counts as one of the three oldest operating road racing circuits in the United States. Over the decades it became a fixed part of North American motorsport with numerous well-known series and competitions.
The circuit follows natural hills and curves that let drivers test their technique across different elevations. Visitors experience a relaxed atmosphere here, moving freely on grass areas and following motorsport action up close.
Visitors often bring their own folding chairs or blankets and spread out on grassy slopes around the facility, as there are no continuous grandstands. Arriving early helps secure a good spot with a view of several turns.
A permanent court ruling prohibits racing on Sundays at the circuit, which means events with unmuffled sports cars may only take place on Fridays or Saturdays. This regulation has been in effect for decades and shapes the facility's race calendar to this day.
