Chippewa Falls

Chippewa Falls is the county seat in Chippewa County, located in northwestern Wisconsin. The town spreads along the north bank of the Chippewa River and is surrounded by forested hills and river valleys.

Europeans settled the area from 1838 onward and built sawmills along the river. Timber processing turned the settlement into a key center for the lumber industry during the 19th century.

The Jacob Leinenkugel brewery welcomes visitors inside historic buildings that still carry their original character. People come to witness the craft of beer making and feel the region's connection to its brewing tradition.

Parks and walking trails sit within easy reach of downtown and run along the riverfront. Many waterside spots work well for fishing or launching boats onto the river.

The river once formed a natural boundary between different indigenous territories and served as a key transport route for timber rafts. Today it flows quietly through town and draws people who want to walk or picnic along its banks.
