Great American Ball Park, Baseball venue in Downtown Cincinnati, United States.
Great American Ball Park is a baseball stadium in Cincinnati along the Ohio River with seating for over 42,000 spectators during Cincinnati Reds games. The facility spans multiple levels with open areas beyond the outfield that offer views of the river and downtown skyline.
The stadium opened in March 2003 as a replacement for the older Cinergy Field that previously served as the team home. Great American Insurance acquired naming rights at the time through a long-term agreement with the team.
Many visitors wear red clothing on game days to show support for the home team, creating a sea of color throughout the stands. Families often gather near the riverfront walkways before games, sharing food and talking about the season while watching boats pass by on the water.
The facility offers numerous food and drink stands throughout all sections, so visitors do not need to walk long distances. Access to seating areas uses stairs and ramps, with entrances distributed along the riverfront and city-facing sides.
Two tall structures in the outfield produce flame effects and release fireworks when the team scores a home run or wins a game. These towers are visible from across the river and serve as a landmark for pedestrians walking in the area.
