Madison Heights

Madison Heights is a suburban municipality in Oakland County, Michigan, consisting of residential neighborhoods, commercial areas, and industrial zones located north of Detroit. The city combines residential streets with business districts and light manufacturing facilities throughout its layout.

The area transformed from Royal Oak Township into an independent city through incorporation in 1955, becoming the tenth municipality established in southern Oakland County. This transition marked its emergence as a separate governing entity.
