Mt. Lebanon, Residential township in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States.
Located 7 miles south of Pittsburgh, Mt. Lebanon encompasses 6.06 square miles of neighborhoods with tree-lined streets, parks, and commercial districts.
The township, incorporated in 1912, transformed from a farming settlement to a suburb after the introduction of streetcar lines in 1901 and Liberty Tunnel in 1924.
The Mt. Lebanon Historic District contains over 3,300 buildings that demonstrate residential architecture and development patterns from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The municipality maintains fifteen parks across 200 acres, an Olympic-size swimming pool, a regulation ice rink, and multiple sports courts for community recreation.
Mt. Lebanon became Pennsylvania's first First Class township to implement a council-manager government system in 1928, establishing an enduring administrative model.
