The settlement was founded in 1836 under the name Tranquility before being renamed after Camden, South Carolina. In the 1800s it served as a stagecoach stop for travelers moving between different regions.
The Benton County Veterans Park serves as a gathering place where locals play baseball, softball, and soccer on open fields. The park's running track and memorial areas show how the community honors its veterans while staying active together.
