Glens Falls, Administrative center in Warren County, New York
Glens Falls is an administrative center on the Hudson River in Warren County in the state of New York. The downtown consists of several street blocks with brick buildings, shops, and municipal facilities.
The place was originally called Chepontuc and changed in the 18th century to a settlement named Wing's Falls. Colonel Glen later acquired naming rights and gave the community its current designation.
The Hyde Collection Art Museum displays works by Rembrandt and other European masters in an early 20th-century residence. The exhibition rooms preserve the original layout of the building and offer insight into the collecting passion of a wealthy family.
