Glens Falls High School, high school in Glens Falls, Warren County, New York

The former Glens Falls High School is a brick building on Glen Street that was completed and opened in 1906, replacing a school destroyed by fire three years earlier. The four-story structure reflects Neoclassical and Georgian Revival architectural styles, was designed by architect Ephraim B. Potter, and has been converted into apartments following the high school's relocation to a new campus on Quade Street in 1952.

The building was constructed in 1905 and opened in 1906 after the original school was destroyed by fire in 1903. A rear expansion added in the 1920s allowed the structure to accommodate middle school classes until the high school relocated to a new location on Quade Street in 1952.

The building served as the heart of education and community gathering in Glens Falls for many decades, and local residents took pride in their school. Generations of students passed through its doors, and today the community remembers this role while the structure now shelters apartment residents.

The building is located on Glen Street in the heart of Glens Falls and is easy to spot thanks to its red brick walls and formal facade with regular window patterns. The location near other historic sites makes the neighborhood an interesting area to walk through and explore.

The building was constructed after a fire destroyed the original school, making it a symbol of the town's resilience and recovery. Its listing on the National Register of Historic Places today protects the structure while allowing it to serve new purposes, showing how communities can preserve and adapt their historic buildings for modern use.
