Lake Bluff

Lake Bluff is a residential village in Lake County along Lake Michigan's shoreline, featuring tree-lined streets and multiple parks. The community spans about 4 square miles with quiet neighborhoods and various recreational areas.

Pioneers settled the area in 1836 and established a stagecoach stop at its center. Later, an association purchased lakefront land to establish a summer recreation destination that shaped the place's development.

The community hosts farmers markets and seasonal celebrations that draw people together throughout the year. These gatherings give the place a welcoming character that residents actively support and enjoy.

Several parks are available for outdoor recreation, including Blair Park, Ravine Park, Sunrise Park, and Artesian Park managed by the local district. These green spaces are well-maintained and accessible for various activities throughout the year.

The location was originally called Rockland before an association transformed it in 1875 by purchasing lakefront property and establishing it as a summer destination. This change marked a turning point that reshaped what the place became.
