Huntington Woods

Huntington Woods is a residential city in Oakland County, Michigan, situated between Woodward Avenue and Coolidge Highway. The community features mature tree-lined streets and single-family homes arranged throughout a compact suburban setting.

The city received its first land grant in 1824 when President James Monroe signed it for J. Lockwood, a War of 1812 veteran. This early settlement formed the foundation for the residential community that developed over the following decades.

The Detroit Zoo occupies the western portion of Huntington Woods, providing educational programs and animal exhibits to residents and visitors.
