Haddon Township is an administrative municipality in Camden County consisting of two separate sections called West Collingswood Heights and West Collingswood Extension. The township contains residential neighborhoods and is managed by municipal offices located on Haddon Avenue.
The township was established on February 23, 1865, when land was separated from Newton Township. It takes its name from Elizabeth Haddon, a 17th-century Quaker who played an important role in the region's early settlement.
Saddlertown grew in the 1830s as a community for formerly enslaved people and played a role in the Underground Railroad network across New Jersey.
