Prickett's Fort State Park, Historical state park in Marion County, West Virginia, US.
The 188-acre park contains a reconstructed wooden fort measuring 110 feet square with two-story blockhouses positioned at each corner of the structure.
During colonial times in 1774, Captain Jacob Prickett established the original fort as a refuge for European settlers against Native American conflicts.
The fort presents daily demonstrations of 18th-century skills including blacksmithing, weaving, and carpentry performed by interpreters in period clothing.
The park remains open throughout the year for hiking and picnicking, while the fort and visitor center operate from April through October.
The Job Prickett House from 1859 stands near the fort, displaying the progression of living conditions in West Virginia over an 85-year period.
