100 East Pratt Street, Office skyscraper in Inner Harbor, Baltimore, United States
100 East Pratt Street is an office tower on the waterfront of Baltimore's Inner Harbor in Maryland, with a glass and steel facade. The tower rises 28 floors and connects directly to a parking garage and street-level retail spaces.
A ten-story concrete building completed in 1975 first stood on this site as part of Baltimore's growing business district. A glass tower extension added in 1992 replaced much of the original look and brought the structure to its current height.
Several major financial firms occupy the tower, drawing a steady flow of workers to the Inner Harbor each weekday. The ground floor shops and restaurants serve both office employees and visitors exploring the waterfront.
The tower sits directly on the Inner Harbor waterfront and is easy to reach on foot from central Baltimore. The attached parking garage makes it accessible by car, though the surrounding streets can get busy during peak hours.
The roof of the tower uses trusses that both hold up the southern facade and light up the building after dark. Using a single structural system for two such different purposes is uncommon in tall buildings of this type.
