Beebe Estate, Greek Revival cultural center in Melrose, Massachusetts
The Beebe Estate features sophisticated architectural elements including fluted Doric columns, corner pilasters, and a central cupola atop the hip roof.
Initially built in 1828 as a summer residence for Boston merchant William Foster, the estate remained under Bigelow and Beebe families from 1854 to 1963.
The estate functions as an art gallery displaying local artworks on Saturdays through initiatives coordinated by the Beebe Estate Association.
Located at 235 West Foster Street in Melrose, the estate offers rental spaces in renovated front rooms for special events and gatherings.
The central cupola design draws inspiration from the Choragic Monument of Lysicrates at the Acropolis of Athens.
