Bearcat Stadium, Football stadium in Maryville, US.
Bearcat Stadium is a college sports venue on the Northwest Missouri State University campus in Maryville, Missouri, used for football games and track events. The field has an artificial surface, and the facility includes chairback seating, a video board for replays, and food stands around the seating areas.
The stadium opened in 1917 as Memorial Stadium and served the university through most of the 20th century without major changes. A major renovation completed in 2004 gave it a new name, Bearcat Stadium, and the funding came largely from alumni donations.
On game days, the stands fill with students and residents from Maryville who come together to support the Bearcats. Cheering traditions and familiar routines give the place a sense of belonging that goes beyond the sport itself.
The stadium sits on the university campus and is easy to reach on foot from most campus buildings. Arriving early on game days is a good idea, as nearby parking fills up quickly and the best spots near the entrances go fast.
This site is considered the longest continuously used home ground of any NCAA Division II team in the country, a record that spans over a century of uninterrupted play. Despite this, it remains little known outside the region and draws mostly local fans and students rather than sports tourists.
