Boswell's Tavern

The two-story frame building features prominent chimneys at the west end and contains two main rooms, a warming room, and a bar section.

During the American Revolution in 1781, the tavern served as an encampment for American forces under the Marquis de Lafayette's command.

Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and Patrick Henry frequented this establishment for meetings during the formative years of the United States.

Located at the intersection of U.S. Route 15 and Virginia State Route 22, the building now functions as a private residence.

The structure retains portions of its original 18th-century bar and includes an innkeeper's wing with a sleeping area above the main room.
