Burnet Park, Public park in Syracuse, United States
Burnet Park is an 88-acre park at Syracuse's western edge featuring walking trails, sports fields, and natural landscapes across elevated terrain. The grounds include a swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, three softball fields, and a nine-hole golf course.
John Barber Burnet and his wife Cynthia donated the land to Syracuse in 1886 with the requirement that it remain a public space. A nine-hole golf course was added in 1901 on the site's highest point.
The park functions as a central gathering place where Syracuse residents organize community events, sports activities, and recreational programs throughout the year. People naturally come together in this space for shared experiences and celebrations.
The park is accessible from multiple entrances and provides ample space for varied activities and recreational programs. Visitors should bring suitable footwear for the trails and be prepared for seasonal variations in facility availability.
The golf course was built at Syracuse's highest elevation and features an unusual shamrock-shaped bunker. This design detail is rarely seen in golf courses and makes the course distinctive.
