Cementland, Sculpture garden in Riverview, St. Louis, Missouri, US.
Cementland is a former cement factory in St. Louis that was transformed into an art space featuring massive concrete structures, industrial machinery, and metal sculptures. The 54-acre site spans multiple levels and combines abandoned industrial architecture with artistic installations created by hand and found materials.
An artist purchased the abandoned cement factory and spent years transforming it into a singular art installation through creative vision. The project ended in 2011 when the creator passed away at the site.
The artistic vision combined industrial heritage with sculptural elements, reflecting the manufacturing history of St. Louis through concrete creations.
The site sits near the intersection of Scranton Avenue and Riverside Drive in the Riverview neighborhood. It currently remains closed to public access following its sale at auction in 2022.
Local construction companies contributed to the creation by dumping soil and waste materials on the site, which became woven into the artistic landscape. This unexpected partnership turned the work into a true collaborative effort.
