Centennial Beach, Municipal swimming facility in Naperville, Illinois, US
The swimming area extends from a zero-depth entry to depths of 15 feet within a former limestone quarry filled by natural springs.
The site began as a limestone quarry in 1833, operated until 1913 when underground springs flooded it, and transformed into a public swimming facility in 1932.
The Works Progress Administration constructed the limestone bathhouse in 1934, using materials extracted from the western edge of the quarry.
The facility charges different admission rates for residents and non-residents, with reduced prices available after 5:00 PM and special packages for groups.
Natural spring water continuously feeds the swimming area, maintaining fresh water circulation throughout the former quarry space.
