Clay County Courthouse

The Clay County Courthouse is built with red stone and features classical columns and ornamental details throughout its design. A bronze-covered dome with a clock tower tops the structure, making it one of the most visible buildings in town.

The building was constructed in 1901 as a Neoclassical structure and replaced three earlier courthouses that had served the county. Its design reflected the growing importance and prosperity of Clay County during the early 1900s.
