The estate was established in the 19th century as a farming operation focused mainly on cotton and soybeans. Over time it grew into one of the larger farms in the region and shaped the lives of many families who worked the land.
The main house displays furnishings from before the Civil War, and each room features a different pressed tin ceiling that shows the craftsmanship of that era. These details give visitors a direct sense of the daily life and taste of wealthy plantation owners in the 19th century.
