Dortch Stove Works, Industrial heritage site in Franklin, Tennessee.
The Dortch Stove Works complex spans 310,000 square feet with ten Depression-era buildings featuring high ceilings, clerestory windows, and concrete floors.
Built in 1929 by Allen Manufacturing Company, the facility produced stoves until 1955, later becoming Magic Chef and then Jamison Bedding until 1991.
The transformation of this manufacturing plant into The Factory at Franklin represents the evolution of industrial spaces into modern commercial centers.
The renovated complex at 230 North Franklin Road houses 83 retail tenants, offering shopping and dining experiences in the original industrial structure.
Local residents invested more than $100,000 in preferred stock during the initial construction phase, demonstrating early community support for industrial development.
