Eagle Cave

Eagle Cave is a show cave in Blue River, Wisconsin, featuring more than 700 meters of passages and chambers with natural onyx formations throughout the underground system. The cave contains multiple levels and rooms where mineral deposits create distinct visual features along the rock surfaces.

The cave was discovered in 1849 when two men named Peter Kinder and Murphy tracked bear prints through deep snow and found the entrance. This accidental discovery during a winter pursuit marked the beginning of the site's documented history.

The cave entrance hall functions as an overnight accommodation space for scout groups, supporting educational programs and outdoor activities.

Visitors should prepare for cool conditions since the cave maintains a constant temperature of about 11 degrees Celsius year-round. Warm clothing and sturdy footwear are recommended to make the visit safe and comfortable.

A notable feature is the use of the cave entrance as an overnight lodging space for scout groups and school programs focused on outdoor education. This dual purpose transforms the location into more than just a geological attraction.
