First Baptist Church

First Baptist Church sits on Court Street with red brick walls, large rose windows, and Gothic arches framed by decorative hood moldings. The interior space features a divided chancel arrangement while maintaining the original Gothic design elements.

Construction started in 1884 and architect Stanhope S. Johnson designed a Sunday School annex during the 1920s. This addition helped the building grow to meet the needs of the expanding congregation.
