Quy Nhon

Quy Nhon is a coastal city in Bình Định province, central Vietnam, covering 286 square kilometers between mountains and sea. The place offers 42 kilometers (26 miles) of sandy beaches along the South China Sea and is surrounded by forested hills that reach down to the water.

The region belonged to the Champa kingdom in the 11th century, and traces of this civilization appear in temples and towers around the area. In 1283, a battle between Mongol forces and local troops took place in Thị Nại Bay, shaping the course of the region.

Fresh seafood shapes everyday life, and street vendors sell local dishes like shrimp pancakes and rice cakes with pork organ broth on many corners. These foods show how deeply the sea influences what people eat here every day.

Phu Cat Airport offers regular flights to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and is located about 35 kilometers (22 miles) north of the city center. The coastal road connects the beaches, and many spots are easy to reach even without a car.

On Phuong Mai Peninsula, an economic zone spreads across more than 12000 hectares, combining factories with beach resorts. Visitors see industrial buildings next to holiday complexes, a contrast that shows how the coast has changed in recent years.
