Hưng Yên

Hưng Yên is a provincial city in the Red River Delta of northern Vietnam, serving as an economic and administrative center for the surrounding districts. The city spreads across flat terrain and blends rural areas with urban development.

The area was formerly known as Du Chien district and received official status as a provincial city in 2009. This administrative transformation marked the shift from a rural area to a modern urban center.

The region is famous for cultivating cape-longan fruits, known for their thin skin and juicy flesh. These fruits were once so valuable that they were reserved exclusively for the royal court.
