Phật Tích Temple

Phật Tích is a Buddhist temple located at the foot of Phật Tích mountain, featuring multiple pagodas, shrines, and stone statues arranged across different elevation levels. The structures spread throughout the site, integrating with the natural slope of the terrain.

The temple was established during the Ly Dynasty in the 11th century and became a central point for Buddhist teachings in northern Vietnam. This founding period shaped its long role as an important religious center.

The temple serves as a gathering place where visitors and local Buddhists light incense, make offerings, and participate in meditation sessions. These daily practices shape how the place is used and experienced by those who visit.

The temple is accessible by bus from Hanoi to Bac Ninh Province, followed by local transport to Tiên Du District. Wear comfortable shoes, as the terrain is hilly and exploring the different levels requires walking.

The temple houses stone sculptures from the 11th century, including a large Buddha statue over 3 meters tall. These ancient works showcase detailed carving and represent craftsmanship techniques passed down through generations.
