Ibb Governorate, Administrative division in central Yemen
The governorate spreads across 6,484 square kilometers of mountains and valleys, containing 20 districts with Ibb City as its administrative center.
The region housed the Himyarite Kingdom's capital Dhafar, established around 115 BC by King Dhī Ridayn near Mount Ridan.
The governorate maintains traditional agricultural practices, with families cultivating grains and vegetables that represent 5.6 percent of Yemen's total agricultural production.
