Jåttånuten

Jåttånuten is a hilltop that rises 138 meters above sea level in Stavanger, offering views across the Rogaland landscape from its elevated position. Several hiking paths lead to the summit, and visitors find different spots along the way to stop and look around.

The mountain was developed as a military location when NATO established operational centers there. Underground facilities were constructed within the rock to serve strategic purposes.

The peak represents a significant geographical landmark in the region, standing as the second-highest point within the Stavanger municipal boundaries.

Several hiking routes are accessible to visitors and lead directly to the summit. The trails are easiest to walk during warmer months, though the area can be explored year-round.

The mountain contains an extensive network of underground military installations carved deep into the rock. These hidden structures are not visible from the outside, but they shape the site's story in ways visitors may not notice.
