Fetsund Booms, Timber sorting facility in Fetsund, Norway
The Fetsund Booms spans across the Glomma River where it flows into Lake Øyeren, featuring preserved wooden structures used for timber transportation.
The facility operated from 1861 to 1985, sorting and directing timber along the Glomma River as part of Norway's industrial development during the 19th century.
The site now functions as an open-air museum documenting Norway's logging heritage through exhibits of tools, equipment, and demonstrations of traditional techniques.
Visitors can access the museum from June through August between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM, with guided tours available to explore the facility.
A seven-meter flood marker stone near the Vinkelen building records the historical water levels of the Glomma River through different periods.
