Stedje Church, Heritage church in Sogndalsfjøra, Norway
The red wooden church building constructed in a long basilica design stands near the Sogndalsfjorden shore in Sogndal Municipality.
The first church at this location was constructed around 1180, with official records dating back to 1327 mentioning its presence in the area.
The church features glass mosaics installed in 1943 that display biblical figures, including the four evangelists and scenes of crucifixion.
The building contains 600 seats and maintains regular religious services as part of the Sogn prosti within the Diocese of Bjørgvin.
Three bells hang in the church tower, with the largest one weighing 1100 kilos and dating from before 1400.
