Walaker Hotell

Walaker Hotell is a building with traditional Norwegian architecture located directly beside the fjord in Solvorn. The rooms blend historical details with modern comfort, and the property houses a restaurant serving Norwegian food.

The building was founded in 1640 and is Norway's oldest continuously operating family hotel. The Nitter family took over its management in 1690 and has run it through successive generations ever since.

The building displays traditional Norwegian craftsmanship and regularly hosts art exhibitions featuring local artists. Visitors can see works by contemporary and established artists from the Luster region.

The hotel offers rooms, a restaurant, and arranges guided cultural tours for visitors. The best time to visit is from spring through autumn, when the fjord landscape is most appealing.

The family running the hotel originally came from Scotland and has preserved it through nine generations. The tenth generation is now preparing to continue this long family tradition.
