Roald Amundsen's house in Uranienborg

The residence stands as a complete preservation of explorer Roald Amundsen's living spaces, containing original furnishings, equipment, and personal belongings from his expeditions.

The property remained Amundsen's home until his disappearance in 1928 during a rescue mission in the Arctic, marking the end of his remarkable polar exploration career.

The museum collection includes maps, navigation instruments, and expedition gear that demonstrate Norwegian contributions to polar research and maritime exploration.

Guided tours operate on weekends during August and September, with advance reservations required through the Follo Museum administration office.

The house features a Virtual Reality installation that allows visitors to experience the conditions of Amundsen's successful 1911 South Pole expedition.
